The Start-Up Story
As the message conveyed to Dustin Hoffman in the 1961 film, "The Graduate," William Spolar recognized the importance of one word, "PLASTIC." Switching from expertise in metal tool and die design to plastic injection molding, he envisioned a company that would engineer custom injection molds catering to all industries.
MOLDAMATIC, LLC was founded in 1967. It included engineering, mold building, the production of parts, and a host of custom services geared to serving customers of any industry. Starting with venture capital derived from a volunteer advisory board, two injection presses, and a tiny customer base, the company started towards its goal of gaining a foothold in the business community.
Upon the death of its founder, William Spolar, 1976 saw his son, William A. Spolar assuming the firm's Presidency and William's daughter Mary Anne soon became Vice President in an advisory role. The company is now a global player doing business in USA, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain and the Caribbean.
Fulfilling the vision of our founder, the company has indeed grown from a small custom injection molder to a solidly performing medium-sized business that has always operated under the core values which emphasize Customer Care, Versatility, Employee Development and Continual Quality Improvement.
